What You Looking At, Steinbeck?

Less shitty day today, primarily because as I age, I find it far less satisfying to wallow in my own self-depricating pile of pity. Also, this:

Whatever. I'd totally be her BFF.

Have I mentioned that I’m writing a short story about a family in the dust bowl? I am. I mean, sure, it’s been done — but c’mon Steinbeck, that all you got?

Don't be sad, Becks. Don't be creepy.

  1. Dude, you have me rolling. You’re too funny.

As for Grapes of Wrath…talk about depressing. I hope you do something cheerful with the setting. And title it something like Grapes of Gluttony–something that doesn’t make me want to crawl into a hole and sob for the rest of my life.

Ah, it’s SO depressing. Unfortunately, though, I couldn’t do cheer with the Dust Bowl theme. It’s like…how do you write something funny about flying dirt and fucking measles and junk? You can’t. I’ll let you read it (and hopefully sob for MONTHS) after I submit around. I mean, if you want. Yeah.
